The Province of British Columbia or Provence de la Colombie Britanique is the only Province in Canada that faces the Pacific Ocean, with this Province being created out of what was the Colony of British Columbia and the Colony of Vancouver Island. The Province is home of the large and beautiful island of Vancouver Island, which is home of Victoria and Victoria is the most old English Port or City in all North America. The mainland of British Colombia is home to the great city of Vancouver and the mighty Fraser River which irrigates the interior of the Province, while at the same time British Columbia is home to Whistler which is amongst the greatest Winter Resort communities in North America. This is alongside Aspen and Lake Placid as well as State Line-South Lake Tahoe and Squaw Valley, including Sun Valley and Big Bear.
British Columbia is 944,735 square kilometers in size with this Province which is commonly called B.C  being the fifth largest Province in territory for Canada, and the Province is bordered to the north by The Yukon Territory and to the northwest by Alaska while as for the northeast the Province is bordered by Northwest Territories and to the east the Province is bordered by Alberta. The three U.S States of Washington and Idaho as well as Montana border British Columbia towards its south and southeast, where in dealing with the Pacific it faces the Province alongside its southwestern and western coastlines. It is known that Canada shares a border alongside The International Date Line with both the Russian Federation and Japan, making this Province larger than its actual territory.

Geographical Map of British Columbia
The Province has on its continental territory a huge variety of mountain ranges as part of the Cordillera which runs between the Rockies and the Pacific Ocean, with the Frasier River irrigating the exact center of British Columbia as it runs from the Rockies northwards to where it runs westward and then curves southwards until it empties into its delta at Vancouver. Huge bays and coves on the coastline of the Province are the ends of small rivers, with tiny islands being off the coastline of each bay and cove of that coastline.
The highest mountains of Canada are in a corridor in the far northwest of the Province in which this is between the Province and Alaska as well as The Yukon Territory, with two Mountains in the Province being legendary because they were named after famous individuals The Mountains are Mount Pierre Elliott Trudeau and Mount Terry Fox, with Mount Pierre Elliott Trudeau being named after a beloved Prime Minister when Mount Terry Fox is named after the one legged young man who ran the length of Canada for Cancer research as he was fighting Cancer. The mountains are in a setting just west of Jasper National Park and northwest of Banff National Park, while Yoho National Park is also across those mountains from Banff National Park. The Highest Mountain of Canada is Mount Logan, but it is not in British Columbia for it is within Yukon Territory but right in that same corredor.

The great islands of Vancouver Island and the Queen Charlotte Islands are the great islands of British Columbia as a Province, with the mighty Cawichan Valley on Vancouver Island being a very important valley for the Province. The mountain ranges that form Vancouver Island are those that are by the name of the Vancouver Island Mountain Ranges whose highest mountain is The Golden Hinde. when Mount Rousseau is the second greatest mountain on the island.  The Straight of Georgia and Juan de Fuca Straight rim this great island facing Vancouver as a city and the Puget Sound as well as the great Olympic Peninsula, with the island actually running outside of the Province and into the area of Washington State. This allows the island to face Everett Washington, and Ferries to journey from Victoria as a city to Seattle and Everett closer than if the island was further away.
There are a number of rivers on Vancouver Island and the most important are those of the Somass River and the Nimpkish River in the North Island region as well as the Englishman River near the Port of Nanaimo including the Cowichan River which irrigates the Cowichan Valley in the South Island region.

Like it is with Japan and Hawaii as well as New Zealand the island of Vancouver Island was created by volcanic activity, with the island being home to a Rain Forest although it is in Cold weather and not Tropical weather.

The Queen Charlotte Islands are mountainous islands that lie north of Vancouver Island and are a First Nation community, with the mountains of those islands being the same mountains that form Vancouver Island and then run underwater in forming this archipelago's three islands and then run into the water again until they meet with those mountains in The Alaska Panhandle besides that area's islands.

The Province of British Columbia was created in 1871 on July the 20th with the Flag being of the Union Jack standing above a setting of Waves of Blue and White, when a huge Yellow Sun of wing like rays is in front of the Waves. while as for the Crown in the middle of that Union Jack it honors Royalty.
The Coat of Arms has a helm based on the following remarks

"Crest..."Upon a helm with a wreath argent and gules the royal crest of general purpose of our royal predecessor Queen Victoria differenced for us and our successors in right of British Columbia with the lion there of garlanded about the neck with the provincial flower that is to say the pacific dogwood (Cornus nuttalli) with leaves all proper mantled gules doubled argent."

The Province is governed by a Parliament which has a Legislative Assembly that is divided into two sections by the length of two swards with one side being of the Representatives of the Majority and the Lawyers of the Opposition, when a Lieutenant Governor presides as Chief Executive and in his or hers place in the Chair on the wall between both sides is the Speaker. That Lieutenant Governor is anointed by he or she who is the Governor General as the Royal Representative in the Province, but in function the Lieutenant Governor does not hold real power as it has always been with the Governor General. The day to day functions of Government are in the hands of the Premier and that Cabinet of Ministers that is led by that Premier, with the Cabinet of Ministers being called The Executive Council of British Columbia.
The Courts in British Columbia are organized by Superior Courts and headed by the Court of Appeals, with Common and Basic Law being followed in British Columbia as well as Judges wearing Robes and Whigs as well as the Prosecutors and some Defense Lawyers but not all as it is now in Britain.
In British Columbia the Municipalities are made as individual Municipalities or individual Cities when other areas are called Regional Districts, with the only two major Cities in the Province being those of Vancouver and Victoria.

The economy of British Columbia is the third most important in Canada for any Province, with the economy being mainly centered in Vancouver as a city or Metropolitan Region and especially when dealing with Trade and Commerce as well as Banking and Communications while Victoria is a major Port and center of Commerce besides the Government being a huge employer. Timber and Mining have always been huge industries as well as Agriculture, when Fishing and Hunting are long known activities in dealing with the economy and especially when dealing with Salmon and Game Meat such as Venison. Fir Trapping is still a huge industry, with the whole Province once belonging to the Hudson Bay Company but it was not part of Rupert's Land for instead it was part of Oregon. Tourism is huge and especially because of Victoria and Vancouver as well as Whistler and Yoho National Park including Richardson Provincial Park, of which the Wild Outdoors feeling of the Province is what makes the Province so beloved. The Canadian National Railroad and Canadian Transcontinental Railroad run in and out of the Province, when a great Highway runs up the coastline from Vancouver to Ketchakan Alaska.

British Columbia has a Christian majority that is of Roman Catholic and various Protestant denominations, while Buddhism and Sikhism as well as Hinduism and Islam are also known and especially the Buddhist followings of China and South Korea as well as Japan and the old French Indochine when so many Hindus from India came alongside so many Sikhs and Indo Sub Continental Muslims. Greek and Russian as well as Ukraynian and Serbian including Romanian Orthodox and Eastern Orthodox from Jordan and Palestine also came, besides Muslims from so many Arab nations. This included so many Shia from Iran and Shia from Iraq, while many Assyrian Christians and Eastern Orthodox Christians fleeing Syria as well as Iraq have also made the journey. Because of the Jewish population in the Province many Synagogues are common while The Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints is also known in the Province, but they only have one Temple in British Columbia and it is in Vancouver.
